Srs Fault

Ive An Autobiography 2.5 Dse 1996 And Have Srs Airbag Fault Showing In Message Display How Can I Overcome This Without Going To Dealership?

Check that the fuse has not blown first.

If ok then you will need to get it turned off with either Testbook or Rovacom.

It comes on to tell you that the airbags require replacement and will force you to go to dealer to have them fitted.

Are they available to buy? i removed mine when i fitted new steering wheel buttons, it would be a 5 min job tops! bet they charge a load of labour?

A main dealer will charge £800 to supply and fit new bags.

The reason that they state that they should be changed is, that they will not gaurantee that they will work after a certain time.

This has not been conclusively proven though. I have been in two accidents in cars with airbags over ten years old, both times the air bags went off.

Most people do not bother as it sometimes costs more than the car is worth.

You are probably right to keep away, that did not include the 4 accidents in cars without airbags.
