SRS Airbag Light

Quick question - Should the airbag light on the dash come on briefly when the keys are in the ignition and turned?

All other lights come on but the airbag light stays off and not having the original user manual I don;t know whether this is correct!?
On my Audi, the SRS light comes on briefly then then extinguishes.

If the ligh is supposed to come on, is this likely to be a serious(expensive) problem and would it result in an MOT failure?

When the ignition key is turned to position 2 (ignition) the SRS light should come on for a few seconds then turn off. This is just a test, make sure the bulb works in case a fault does occur. If the light stays on there is a problem and help should be taken to fix it.

As Mr Surry correctly Informed you in his reply, Yes the light should illuminate breifly when the position 2 is selected
Hopefully, simply replacing the afforsaid bulb should rectify the situation with minimum financial implications
