Hi guys,

I'm having trouble trying to stop the rear drum brakes on an ex-mod 90 from squeeling. It was doing it all the time from the rear left wheel, so I took the shoes off, blew the crap out with a compressor, agitated the pads/inside of the drum with wire wool, blew it out again and cleaned it with some brake cleaner and that seemed to reduce it a bit.

After winding the adjustment out a little bit that has also stopped it from squeeling under normal driving, but it still does it when braking. The drums are pretty worn inside, would it be worth simply buying new drums? The pads are almost new but would it be a good idea to replace them also?

Cheers,

Harry

is the leading edge of the pad champhered? some come ready done if not tchampher the leading edge with some sandpaper or a sharp knife, some not also a bit of copper slip on any touching metal faces in there won't hurt.
