Just in case anyone has the same problem! I posted a thread a while ago re my Xreg Td4 making a squeeking noise at low speed on full lock. As my MOT is due any time now I thought I would take the belly pan off and just give the car a quick check over. Everything seemed tight and leak free so I thought whilst under the car I would drop the IRD oil and re fill. The oil that came out was like water! And smelled like Pee! Replaced the oil and the squeek has stopped!

If anyone is trying this make sure the fill plug comes off before draining the oil off! Mine was seized  and I was forced to drop the front of the prop off and re fill through the point where the prop enters the IRD!
Still glad I did it though as the squeek was so annoying!

Not sure about the IRD

the rubber bushes squeek all over the show esp full lock.

Thats the way they all go sir. Get some polybushes all round to elliminate this. expensive but worthwhile

No it was definately a transmission noise! All I did was replace the oil and a noise which I have had for over 8 months was gone. Nothing else was touched!

Hmmmm. Not so sure!

Cheers

Howcome Blippie. The standard bushes creek and make wierd noises. Its a common problem. Not to mention coil suspension mounts. Doesnt mean that are duff.

Polybush dont fade or it would be your money back. Unless you can tell us otherwise, and I dont mean going over sand dunes, that just be the whole chassis creeking. Im sure you already know FL torsional strength makes them twist off road

Haven't quite worked out what is creaking, but I'm assuming its the bushes. Currently working round them and I will find the culprit!

Cheers
