I've justed fitted new pads and disks to my freelander and they are squealing like a banshee, I thought I might have fitted the pads the wrong weay round so I changed them around chamfer the other way so to speak but still squealin like a banshee. Any ideas on what could be causing this, please advise.

Cheers

Remove the pads and file down the other edge so that they are both chamfered. Apply copper grease to the rear of the pads and refit. If the squealing persists, rough up the surface of the discs with sand paper/emery cloth.

The chamfers aren't symetrical on GP/OEM pads.

I can only work out which are the matched pairs by looking at the serial numbers on the edge of the pads - RO & RI are right outboard and right inboard; LO & LI are left outboard and left inboard.

Cheers
