Hi. My Freelander tdi Kalahari estate Auto has developed a squeaking noise which appears to come from underneath, front nearside. It has been given a thorough going over by the small very reliable garage that has maintained it since new in 2003 (58,000 miles on the clock) and pronounced very sound with no wear in steering or suspension. even spraying underneath with a silicon solution but the noise persists and they are mystified. Its a lovely car, in very good condition but on anything other than a dead smooth road it sounds like an old jalopy. Can anyone help please

Nice introduction! Now be a good chap and go along to the Intro Section and tell us a bit about yourself, otherwise some of the natives get a bit tetchy.
Then ask the same question in the Gaylander Section.
It sounds as though your doors might be getting ready to fall off next time it rains
Failing that, squeaks are generally developed by components rubbing together, such as a bush that could do with being nipped up.
What type of squeak is it? Does it happen at slow speed and then get louder/more frequent as you go faster?
If so, it could possibly be linked to the drive chain somewhere.
Do Gaylanders have a transmission brake? I don't know anything about Gaylanders as have a Fender and am just trying to be helpful here ... if so, has it been checked for adjustment? Do they have UJ's, and if so, is there any play in one of them and have they all been well greased?
Is your hair drier fan working properly and not catching on the curlers?
