The clutch on my 90 used to squeak up where it pivots, especially when it was damp outside. I cured it with WD40 squirted with the long nozzle all over the pivot area above the spring which stops the sqeak for about 3 months and then it needs doing again

I fail to see why a new cambelt can cause your clutch to squeak? Maybe if you change your coolant it will fix the problem. Or put some washing up liquid in the washer bottle. Or fit seat covers or a roof rack.

As for noise from the engine, it could be that something was not put back on properly, its likely its the serpinetine (fan) belt sqeaking, I would doubt the new cam belt is squeaking.

If you think you can identify the problem with water I wouldn't worry to much, what do you think happens in there everytime it rains, these engines can run submerged if they have raised air intakes and a few holes plugged. If its the belt, and you spray some water onto it, and it stops for a minute, then you know its the belt, then again the water might just make it squeak more.

So the clutch, when does it squeak, when you have the pedal in or when its moving??? Could be a few things, could be the release bearing or is it just the pedal thats squeaking and therefore a bit of oil could fix it, it could be a sign that something is about to give up the ghost, so if your in doubt get it looked at or risk being stuck with no clutch.

HAHA i see ya caught me out there!the squeakin clutch is problem one, the chirpin (maybe from cambelt new raidiator??) is problem two!yes the title is a wee bit misleadin!

cheers for the help bud, the clutch it squeaks when engagin it, if its the pedal, where would be best to try a lil oil? is there anywhere i SHOULDNT squirt a lil WD40?!
the fan belt, could be that, it 'chirps' occasionally when idle, and quicker for frequently when on the go. i may try sprayin a lil water on it, i'l take the risk of it sqeakin more-it already at maximum irratation anyway!!

any further advice or ideas would be gratefully recieved o wise one!

yu cud try a "dry silicone" spray on the clutch pedal pivot - but NOT on the fan belt. either that or some beeswax polish.

right, will do with the dry silicone spray (any ideas on a brand there?) is water ok to use on the fan belt?
