hey everyone,
I jus bought my 1st LR, a 300tdi defender 90 SWagon,
but got a couple of issues i really would b grateful if anyone could help me with especially a i have 3 months warranty to find faults and get em fixed!
me landys drippin a lil oil onto the front axel, not much just a few drops. also noticed that low down on the left hand side of where ya stick the oil in is a lil wet with oil. is this the start of a problem, or me being overly sensitive to how a ten yr old landy treats its blood?!
also, i noticed that once running, theirs a "chirpin" sound comin from the engine, but have no idea wat or why. honestly sounds like a bird. any one any ideas??please help if ya can cos i aint the littlist bit mechanically minded.

cheers

Sounds like the exhaust/inlet gasket, the tweety bird sounds that is. Also, if the inlet leaks you get oil down the turbo side of the engine. Easy to change, turbo can stay on, just pull the whole shebang away from the engine, replace gasket and refit the bolts.
