how did you get on buddy?
Hi Mark,
Removal of the BeCM showed that it had enjoyed a cafe-latte or other such beverage at some point in the past(not me Guv'nor), and so it has been sent off for testing and repair/replacement.
I won't know more till next week now. It's a shame to have to spend c.4-500 quid on a vehicle worth about £1,000 to £1,200. But it is cheaper than buying a new and unknown car I suppose.
As soon as I get a result, I will update the thread. Thanks for asking and for all the support. It is much appreciated.
Dan.

Ahem...."That was a thought, but I was hoping it wasn't

I had a tiny problem with a front window and it was "a" single pin at fault. SO either someone dropped a coffee and hasn't thought to mention it, or wet feet on a carpet has taken it's toll "

Why are people such disgusting selfish eh holes :(

I sincerely hope it all works out well. I would personally go to some coffee bar and throw your purchase all over the floor. Then, suggest at least a feckin floor is cheaper to clean up than a BECM

o_O

You been at the coffee?!

You been at the coffee?!
just a tad... :p
fingers crossed!;)
It's worth the wallet attack when your driving around chuffed to bits!! I payed 3500€ for my bus then a 1000€ in suspension brakes and g/box oil cooler.. That's before we get to tired gearbox!!!
anyway, your welcome;)

I'll sell you a whole car for 1500 :D

A Vogue no less... :p

I haven't bought it....yet, but I am thinking about it

Almost finished the Citroen C4 I bought a couple of weeks ago. I want top dollar for it, but the guy who want's to buy it knows I won't let it go until it is done properly. We fitted a heap of new parts yesterday and rebuilt the interior (had to strip half the centre consol to get the gear shifter & cables out. Fitted the replacement and no side to side movement  Turns out a bit of plastic was missing, so I pinched it off the old one and bam, 5 forward & 1 reverse gear. Monday, new oil & filters going on, make sure everything is as it should be then fit new timing belt kit and water pump followed by mot test.... ONLY then I can think about the Vogue. But to keep on topic, I had a curious "miss" from George yesterday, almost as if she wasn't getting full fuel pressure! After a 100 yards or so she seemed to clear, then up the hill, a small bit of miss, then off as normal o_O

IF I get her back and working properly, I will be happy.
Especially if I can get the engine running properly at >7MPG. at any point.
Then I might look at switching the LPG system back on and getting that working.

When I first got the old gal in 2005 I was enjoying 18MPG on petrol, and an indicated 15.4MPG on LPG.
With the then price differential between Petrol & LPG it was well worth it.
It's running so badly on Petrol it wont run on LPG at all. I think the EMS may be in trouble too!
Its an old LR approved LandiRenzo Omegaz installation and it used to work just fine.
Oh for past glories. I don't do a lot of miles so just having her running reliably will be fine by me.

And... the BeCM has been fully tested and has passed with flying colours :) Nothing wrong with it.... Phew!
So, we are back to dirty connections, loose women and poor lifestyle choices.
First bit of good news I have had in the past 10 days.
I will update as soon as I have a definitive answer.

I am grinning through gritted-teeth because things just go from bad to worse.
So, the BeCM was declared "Good" but the charge for this was £180 inc. P &P.
However.... the muppets at the testing place (not saying who unless you ask) then sent my BeCM to a completely unrelated and unknown address in Glasgow  and we have not seen it since.
Allegedly, they are trying to retrieve it and my autoelectrician is ****ed off because my dead Rangie is blocking a bay in his yard.
You couldn't make this stuff up really could you?
So, I am several hundred pounds to the bad, and still no fix of my motor.
