hardest bit can be removing front clips holding bottom of bag to axle plate, the rest is straight forward, ensure you follow wiring diagram carefully

As James said pretty straight forward, I did mine about 18 months ago, took a couple of hours. You will get a plug with a pig tail with the kit to plug straight into your Becm & that takes care of the electrics.

I have read somewhere that new MOT regs due in next year may cause problems for owners of Range Rovers converted from air to coils ??????
Cant remember where I read it so can anyone confirm or dispel the rumour ??

No it wouldn't it is a approved conversion by land rover as they have conversion kit to a spring suspension system

Eh? Since when? I don't think this is correct for the P38 - it was never type approved for coils so LR would certainly not provide a conversion kit for it.

As for the MOT question, I think all we've established is that VOSA don't know what they're talking about.

Well kooky if you know more than VOSA who am I to argue but my local mot station also said that coils will not affect the mot, if it does though she will be off to the scrap yard with lots of others I suspect as I will not re-enstate the EAS.

The p38 first came ot with coils when first made. But a bunch of cnuts wanted a softer ride, for there hemorrhoids wouldn't hurt after a nite of shagging each other

I have no knowlege of any P38 being produced with coils, thought they all came out with EAS as the later classics was a test bed for the system, still I think its a better motor since I changed it. Where the EAS scores is on corrogations and thats about it.

Perhaps "Fur Trapper" has been misinformed by the fat cockney idiot off that car restoration program? (Wheeler Dealers?) During the P38 episode he informs the audience to source the air-sprung version of the P38! What that man knows about cars wouldn't fill a postage stamp.

range rovers where produced with coil springs until 1993 then air supension. and coil conversion are allow. Just do a google search and you will find the info. Wikipedia will help you and other places. Sword swallower

P38s have never had coils and Land Rover do not make coil convertions for them. If the EU have their way you will not be able to fit ANY part to the car that was not fitted to it when it was new. And does not appear on the type certification documents. Unless it is a manufacturer approved part or accessory. That's the way it is in some EU countries Spain for one as i understand it. My sons father in law bought a Merc over here and took it to Spain. He had to remove the side steps and the window tints to get it through the test. He had to take it to the main dealers to have side steps refitted and added to the vehicle documents even though they were Merc parts. He was told he could not refit window tints because they were not Merc items. If he wanted tinted windows he had to remove them and have tinted glass fitted supplied by Merc.

Wammers range rover was on coil springs and the p38 is a model of range rover The thread is range rover. P38 is on air supension There are conversion for them.
