Your paranoid , my daddy taught me never to lock my car , i never do why because there cause more damage breaking in if they want it they will have no locks will stop a lorry with a hiab picking it up and disappearing grow up

I am not saying they need this site but why give them more help, if you ever get stung maybe you will see it in a different light.
Over and out.
Your vehicle and it's number plate is in plain view of the public whenever you are driving it. If someone wanted to clone a vehicle, all they would have to do is look out for a similar one driving around anywhere and use the number plate off of that, or look in any auto trader, or look on any second hand car website, or look at the pictures posted by most of the members on here of their own vehicles. I really don't think that this thread will have any impact on vehicle crime at all. In fact, it could be of possible benefit to a member who has had their vehicle stolen if they spot it on here.

If you believe what your daddy tells you really are deluded. more security means less thefts. Agreed a hiab can take anything, but if you don't lock it any passing knob head will relieve you of it.
Now stop talking bollox.

I do agree with you on this point. Anything that makes your vehicle harder to steal is a good thing. Given a choice between a vehicle with steering wheel lock and clutch claw, or a vehicle that is left wide open with no security, which one is the theif going to go for?

im with wickford, if i see people in the street takin photo'sof my landy then i wont be to happy, said camara could end up busted

Err, if they are on public property, and taking a picture of something that can be easily seen from the road or pavement, then they are doing wrong, and it will be you that ends up in the ****e.

I don't have a radio, or hand bag in my vehicle. I never leave anything of value in my Defender at all, beacuse I know how easy it is to break into, I have just made it very hard to steal without alerting half of my neighbours and myself.

While im all for postin pics of landies lanin, pay and play sites etc, i do believe some peeps blank out their reg plates if they want to... you aint blankin their reg plates so you aint given em a choice of wantin the pic to show reg plates or not. Peeps see landies all the time and on occasions peeps have posted and asked if seen landy that was on the M5 today at 1pm, is anyones from off here. So my opinion is.. i cant see the point in this thread. :(

Next said competent car thief sees your car unlocked and you can kiss your car and any insurance claim goodbye.

To deter the opprtunist who is looking for people dumb enough to leave valuables in an unlocked car.

If all cars are locked then how would that prevent someone set on earning a quick buck to stop it doesn't just means someone going to get a smashed window can't you see my point
