Spot light trouble

Hi all, I have spot lights fitted to my disco, they were already installed when I bought it....trouble is they are they intermittent....I read that the Aux switch is momentary and has to be activated when you switch the ignition on.....I have tried this and it's very hit and miss....and very annoying...I'm thinking maybe the switch is faulty or the control unit is on the blink or is there a particular key position to use when you press the Aux switch...

control unit!!, my old car had em and used to do it, i looked at everything, until wait for it! i did a search and found out they are prone for it!

no! did away with it, new one was £79.99
