Currently trying to split a transfer box from a disco gearbox to fit into the 90 but the damn thing seems welded on.

6, 17mm bolts removed, linkages disconnected etc.

It just will not budge an inch.

Is there some trick to this I'm missing here?

these are the 6 bolts I have removed

is there something else?

Damn thing is welded fast... tried driving a flat headed screwdriver into the crack and nothing but a dent in the casing

no it's sitting on a pallet with the gearbox... I have good access to it and can't see anything I have missed.

Going to try and heat the seam with a blow torch now, in case it has been glued

yup... removed that to have a look inside, I can see the input shaft but the gear wont come out. It's stuck fast.

I can spin it by turning the handbrake drum

I just separated one last week, it took a LOT of force! It moved 10mm OK then took a breaker bar and another large lever to get it off.

well this aint right , that should also come out a **** of ****. sounds like the gears welded itself to the input shaft.

I am starting to suspect this is the case.... any suggestions on how to free the bugger or is it just a case of big hammers and levels and lots of force to the back of the box?

Just don't want to break it... so i'm taking it easy at the moment.
