split hose in whitehaven

Bugger!

Rear left hand coolant hose about 4" long that tapers down in diameter is split. It connects the hard coolant pipe at the back of the engine to the oil cooler.

Stuck in whitehaven unless I ring the RAC to drag me back to up scotland.

Lost coolant pressure and started to overheat.

Anyone local able to assist? No worries if not.

Can someone have a look at the map and list up who's close?

Daft has texted Screerun. What exactly do you need to get you up and running?

Does it need an exact part picking up from a suppliers or a bodge and a fistful of clips?

Screerun is in Whitehaven but he works shifts, it says.
Fmog is the next and he works from home. Wasdale??

i think as the hose is tapered anything other than the proper thing is going to fail, its split right in the middle so it doesnt seem possible to cut it down either.

Kind off of assistance from screerun, unfortunately local landy dealer doesnt have one, or secondhand in the back, so i think its going to be an RAC jobbie.

fingers crossed its not done the head,

it was hhoooottttttt (120 C according to nanocom)

Hose ordered and 20 ltrs of OAT coolant. At least thats the last coolant change to get rid of the oil that was in the coolant done for me eh

Only when I'm drunk

Maybe it's best to get a piggy back home if yer worried about the head

i figure i might as well just go for it, the heads either going to be ok or knackered and only way to find out really is to drive the thing

REET GUYS - SIMPLE ROADSIDE FIX.....

get a cycle inner tube and slide it INSIDE the defective hose. when pressurised, it should press itself against the old hose and be ok as a get-you-home fix.

Couple of jubilee clips to hold the old hose together to be safe.
