Speedo Gone Spaccy..

Mornin me dears.. Reet, I was sayin how me temp guage was jumpin around like a loon the other day and me speedo was doin the same. The temp gauge seems fine now, but me speedo is going mad. It jumps around back an forth all over the place.. If I wer to believe the reading, me landy would be doin 0-60mph in 1 second! When it happens, I can hear a noise from behind the speedo, like a whineing noise. I'm presuming me 300tdi has a speedo cable..? And mebbe its fooked?? Any other ideas??

never look at the sun with yer naked eye.
oh and yer speedo whip the cable orf the back of the speedo head. pull the inner out and check fer frays and bentos and any kinks, busted wires or any thing else which might make it snag.
if it looks ok then lub it up wiff some light oil , no yer dumb blonde not the stuff yer put in parafin lamps but a thin oil , then reinstall it. if its still jumping about its either yer drive orf teh t/box or the speedo head. i suspect the head in thi scase. so yerd have to take that out and have a look at the hole where the cable goes in. it might be worn. only you can tell when yer look at it

yer really think so?
if it wur working fine and suddenly went bananas its very unlikely to have disconnected itself. if someone had bin fiddling with it they maybe they dint put it back in reet but as she dint say it wur fiddled with its more like a damaged or just plain odd worn somewheres
