speedo drives

could some one please confirm or dismiss my thoughts for me

i want to fit 235/85/r16 to my 200tdi disco
if i go and bye the speedo drive from a defender which runs these tyres as standard will the speedo on my disco run at the correct speed???

i don't want to go and order one till i know if it will work or not??

If milkfloats overtake u ur goin too slow. If u cant go round corners ur goin too fast. Problem solved?? Cheap too!!

There's a lot of logic in the above. Go for it, although whats a defender :scratching_chin:

check it with the tyres on and a sat nav system it will tell u exactly what speed your doing.

The speedo reads wrong as standard. With 235/85s or 265/75s it should be pretty close to spot on.

Check out the which tyres fit 'sticky', somewhere on there was a speed/tyre/ratio calculator.

The speedo needs to be within 10 percent IIRC.
