hi

on testing the speakers i have found that the 2 x front main speakers dont work, the rears and the tweeters are fine.

checked there was voltage at the plugs and thats ok.

i was just going to get another pair of standard LR speakers for now until such times i can afford some better one.

was wondering does anyone know where the best place is to get some please, additionally when i am ready to buy some new better ones, where is the best place to go .

thanks again

hope im not being a pain keep coming here asking so many questions

thanks again

Unless you can get a second hand pair off ebay, the dealerships will charge you as much for the standard ones as you could buy a half decent pair for.

As much as it pains me to say it, pop down to your local halfrauds and try a few out. Personally i've gone for a pair of JBLs in the front which i bought from halfrauds for around £65. Though i'm sure i might have seen these on ebay now (exact model discontinued) for around £35-£40.

The quality is much better than the originals (even though the originals are Alpines) and even without an amp you get still get bloody good sound.

Are they even fitted in the door?

Trace the voltage back to the cross over junction, the speakers are component type.

I have some standard Freelander speaker kicking about if you're stuck, send me a PM

hiya, i certainly dont mind anyone suggesting anything, i actually took out the left speaker and tried it into the rhs door and it worked, i must admit i didnt even know there were speakers in the back until i fitted my pioneer cd player i had then when i donw the balance the sound came alive was well impressed then noticed the speaker not working.

i will buy some good ones later, are the rear ones the same as the front ones so that when i do buy some will know the size.

thanks guys so much
