been recommended HGK plugs.. one site says PFR6N-11
another says NGK BPR6ES confusrd on which ones i need (2000 4.6 v8 lpg)

what do you lot use

You don't need to use the platinum Bosch plugs for the Thor engine as specified by Land Rover. I think it was an attempt to increase the use of German parts when BMW grabbed The Rover Group. The BPR6ES plugs are both cheap and good quality. The gaps should already be set to 0.8mm but check them anyway.

sorry load of twoddle!!!!!
land rover changed the plug replacement interval and these plugs had the spec to last! nothing to do with bmw!!!

use ngk if on gas me personaly i fit platinum splitfire plugs very good never a problem

Best ageee to disagree then.

The ignition systems is essentially the same using coil packs and the engines are similar, so why the change to the over expensive platinum plugs? I'd rather change my plugs more often because I can pick up on how the engine is running.

I have been advised that platinum plugs are not recommended for use with gas, as it tends to eat them over time, platinum plugs are worth while if used on a engine of higher tune they seem to give a cleaner burn, I have used these to reduce popping in the exhausts on over run in tuned engines.

owing to the cost and that i have no job at the mo  i want the best at the lowest price...... these platinumplugs are mega bucks compared to the normal ngks and ive got lpg so its ngk plugs for my pain inthe but of a car

The lowest price around me is about £5.80 NGk platinum, which is not far off a cheap plug price. When i took mine out after 15k , they were slightl eaten, but had nothing to compare with.
