Can anyone supply the rough dimensions for a spare wheel well?

I need to replace my S1 well, alternatively if anyone has one for an S1 or s2/3 lwb knocking around I would be interested.

My Series I spare was either bolted onto the bonnet or fastened to the back of the bulkhead, and it didn't have a well to sit in!

Have you got the right bonnet?

On my three there's a bracket to secure the spare to the rear of the internal bulkhead.

Mine is an 80. Sadly the well was cut about years ago by the previous owner when he fitted a cage. When it got rebuilt several years ago the knackered floor was plated over with chequer plate and the well removed. I have just acquired a proper clamp for the rear, but a spare needs to be recessed for it to fit.

Especially as I should be getting some bfg a/ts off a 90 shortly for my 8 spokes

As for the bonnet there is no fixing. Besides I played that game year's ago with a 109 it was a bugger to lift it up, plus you can't rest it against the screen with a spare on.

A quick seaerch of the LRSOC site has turned this up for anyone else that may be interested

As I am looking to fit some nice 265/75x16s to the motor I think I will take Jai's suggestion and get one fabricated, but 11" wide to accept a modern tyre.
