Was wondering if anyone had mounted thier spare inside and how they had done it? Getting fed up off it on the back of mine, would rather stick it inside but dont want to lose to much space, happy to loose the benches though. Am thinking a side mounted rack or something like that...

or a series one...

You mean like a well in the arch or the rear of bulkhead

Not sure on a well, was thinking more racking or a rear mount solidly mounted upright and bolted onto the arch section of the tub up against the side window maybe. Bulkhead could be an option possibly although I imagine it would restrict access into the rear...

How big are your wheels/tyres? Have you considered a bonnet mount?

Tyres are 31/10.5's, I may be going up to 33x12.5's in the future but not yet so I will work on a 31" size. Not keen on bonnet mount as it restricts visability and doesnt look nice IMO

Do a wolf mount ?

Would be in the way when laning I fear, sometimes its tight as it is without 11"+ hanging out the side...

i had a side mounted one on my 90 when i bought it, it was up against one of the side windows. It was basically a rear mount that had been chopped and bolted to the cappings and a brace to the floor.

Mines a 110 and the spare sits inside on top of the wheel arch box, then bungied to the body. I do have a cargo/dog guard though, so in the event of a crash it shouldnt hurt any passengers!

Could do it wlm style and fit it to a sliding rack with a lid on top so keep storage space and cut into the arches a little ? or possibly at the front end of the arches slice a cutout in either one, weld it up or rivet in some ally then body fill it to seal then put tyre in there on its back rather than storing it vertically

I presume a swingaway isnt an option?

Thats what I have got at the moment, its OK but I find it hits when going down steep banks, its currently bent so thew wheel is now on at an angle. This is the main reason for wanting it inside now

I did think that, I want to keep the storage room for me toolbox/spares/general crap without having to move the spare everytime to reach it all....
