Spain/Portugal route

Hi,
I'm based on the French side of the Pyrennees, near Bayonne. driving down to Faro, Portugal, in June in our 110 TD5. looking for some intersting routes down and back up. can anyone advise, I've looked on wikiloc and found someone who was doing north Portugal to South, but I can't find him anymore, maybe you are here on LZ;

Here I have found a French site that covers Portugal and Spain aswell as other countries.
Downloadable road books, in my case the Transportugal road book.

another Question, is the roadbook and maps enough to get by or is it best to have gpx aswell

it's personal choice for Portugal, it's well mapped and has at least 2 good forums;

it you can get a gps you can download tracks from;
Wikiloc - GPS trails and waypoints of the World

there's loads around, just search on the site.
