Ok, knock on the chin taken!
Thank you for the added support folks, need to understand the 'Forum' world a bit better and have now learnt.
And would agree that the help is fantastic!:tea:
On a different subject anyone recommend an engine oil? and do I need to check and use any other oils / grease? (i.e. Dif box oil, prop shaft greasing etc, etc?)

You picked the wrong forum to be new on

Stick around though, this place is great. Bags of advice but we/they dont tolerate fools lightly. give as good as you get and just tell someone to #### off if you need to. :)

I used to have an Electricity Board landy, it had 9.00 x 16 tyres, the lock of a jumbo jet and suspension so hard it wasn't worth having. Each to their own but I thought it was a heap of crap, only kept it a couple of years then a bloke bought it for a trip to South Africa. He sent a post card from London when he left, promised to send another postcard when he arrived in Cape Town. Never heard from the bloke again, there's probably a landy in central Africa with a skeleton sat at the wheel :)

That sounds like a 1-Ton, got any photos?

Pretty much as per you pic. As I remember it was an 'L' reg with ladder racks and the same sort of tyres. It was really slow with a top speed of around 48mph, however it was good off road and in the snow. I thought it was ok at the time, but only had my Series 1 to compare it with. Just checked with the other half and she says we had it for 3 winters, she would remember it as my son was conceived in this vehicle

Update: Just remembered it had a capstan winch.
