Sound system problem on my l322

Hi There
Has anybody had this problem with the sound system on their Range rover l322 every 5 seconds the sound system goes off the comes straight back on it is the same on the CD and the tape deck. Iv had the amplifiers tested and they are ok .Has anybody any ideas

How about the condition of the connectors to the amps ??

+1 sounds like corroded connections to me!

could also be overload protection - most amps have an overload circuit if it is either a) turned up to loud or b) a short in the speaker system

does the problem continue after say 10mins of driving? and does it go away after stopping and restarting? this can happen if the battery is low on charge or in poor condition. Another tell tale sign is the orange 'on' light being very faint.
