From what I could see sticking me head under with a high power torch, all looks in good fettle, I would say fine fettle just yet, but initial inspections it looks OK, the next few days as I get more of an opportunity to give it the once over.

And the drive is surprisingly good - seats are comfy too albeit a little narrow for my frame!.....not as bad I thought it would be.....not a patch on a Range Rover, but it wouldn't be, but I can see why those so inclined do actually rave about them... it ain't too bad.

The next few days will reveal more as we get acquainted with our new purchase - it is at work at the moment while I get it on diagnostics, so I still have my sisters Mini All4 Cooper S, and once it has been plugged in and see what the EDC is complaining about we'll go from there.

At that price I wouldn't mind one myself:D

I’ve had 2 td4s one manual and 1 auto, to be fair not bad runabouts, only thing for me to check would be the vac pipe that runs down to the turbo, they tend to rub in the clips and bleed air meaning no full turbo deflection, blanked egr on both worked a treat

Nope, Nanocom only does Freelander 2.

It is a great little scamp I'll give it that.....not as refined or plush as the Range Rover (obvs), but as a little run around, it ain't bad.

One of my cousins had a Freelander2 TD4 and it was a good workhorse. He'd chipped it and it went well and towed all sorts of stuff.

Quick update:

Plugged the Freebie into the diagnostics today, Boost Signal up the swanny, checked live data and the reading from the MAP was static....

Checked MAP pipe and that was clear, checked the wiring through to the ECU, MAP port was clear too, no splits in the pipe or the end rubber connections so that was all groovy - a quick call to local Landy Indy, they have MAP sensor on the shelf, dashed over, paid the silly price for it (£137) got back, plugged in - EML out, back on diagnostics, cleared out the fault code - checked live data and the readings was fluctuating with load and accelerator position etc.

Took it her for a drive and all seems well with the world.

Next up is to figure out the passenger central locking - won't unlock on the fob (double press either!), won't unlock on the interior lock button, but will lock on the fob and will lock on the interior button, so either there is no signal to the lock for an unlock movement, or the lock isn't responding to said signal!

I'll refrain from Freebie posting in the Range Rover section now.....I just thought y'all like to know how we got on!

£137.00 are you being serious? That is total rip off.
