Somebody stole my bonnet last night.

In Haworth, West Yorkshire. In full view of the entire street someone whipped off my bonnet last night.

On what? Colour etc.

Wouldn't it be easier to have just typed "It's a black defender bonnet" - instead of expecting people to click through to your profile to view it.

If you are actually expecting any exposure and help getting it back you need to make it easy for people to help you, not hard.

Is it a Puma bonnet, mine's a 95 reg but obviously a rebuilt one-off?

Gotta ring around today and try and find a replacement and as it's not a standard looking one that sort of information is useful.

Given the shape of mine is it a special type or just a standard puma?

Fair one and I apologise for not being more thorough. I'm still going through the anger stage at the moment given it's still very fresh. I also don't know specifically what type mine is so was hoping someone would be able to identify it from the pic.

My biggest concern now is that they've scoped it out and will be back on another day for the wheels, soft top, front grill and god knows what else.

Unfortunatly you are probably right, time to up the security measures!

Might pay you to quickly invest in some cctv etc as a deterrent mate.
Clearly the neighbourhood watch isn't to good there.

£200 will get you set up,

£200 might sound alot but consider the fact they come back and still another bonnet, wheels, lights, grill etc etc The cost of replacing all of this is much greater than the £200 invest in a couple of cameras and a pair of 500w Motion Activated Spotlights.

Plod gave me a crime reference number but didn't send anyone out. I don't blame them either. What can they do?

I usually buy CCTV stuff from Y3K as I installed all our kit at work. It's just a lot of money I could do without having to spend. Got a couple of cameras left over from there that I'll install.

I'm also going to let the dogs roam the house now rather than locking them in the back kitchen. Bye bye clean sofas.

I have one of these set ups and they are bloody good, set up is long winded but they work well. Set them to motion activated and use the setting to blank sections of the frame off so that it doesn't pick every car up that goes past.
Mine covers pavement but not road to save memory (approx 10days continuous.)
