some thing missing under dash disco 2 v8 help

i have a 2002 discovery v8 there is some thing ecu or such like missing from under the dash/o/s/kick panel there are 2 plugs long and thin , this car is from a salvage yard

i'm not up on d2s but my d1 has plenty of spare plugs hanging about that was standard wiring installed for kit that was fitted on different trim levels so not all of em get used , does make ya worry when you see em an think what the .'.'/ is that for ?

Land Rover have a habit of fitting one wiring loom for all the different models, so you end up with a lot of extra wiring and plugs for kit you don't need. For example an airbag ECU plug in a vehicle that doesn't have airbags, or mine has all the electric window switch plugs in the centre console, even though I've got manual winders.

Wouldn't worry too much about it, if you're really bothered try finding the plug in a wiring diagram in your Haynes manual.

I think the grey one is for the folding door mirror ecu
