Some maths: Will this equation work?

If Series is III and is SWB petrol. Drivebygorgearses theoremsays you'll be fooked at the garage pumps.

So will 300tdi the earliest version fit into Series is III and prove Drivebygorgearses theorem wrong?

Assuming 300tdi is from a discovery and is in good nick.

Ok, a mate is scrapping/selling a Discovery 300tdi, on an "M" reg. It's not all the electronic trickery that came with the later 300tdi engines (apparently). So I was wondering if it would be a good transplant into either a SWB Series III which is currently a petrol, or a LWB Series III which I have not bought, or found yet, but intend to!

All Land Rover Series 4 pot & 6 pot engines were slugs, I'd buy the complete Diso and then re-coup funds later, that way you'll have all the bits.

Ok, so the engine's not going to fit.

But I like the idea of buying the disco.

It's needing track rod ends, the read door/arches welding (what a surprise) and a boot floor fitted.

Is is worth saving? Oh, and it has two tanks and runs on waste veg oil!

Its land Rover as said above "cut n weld".

I fitted a V8 in a series one, another one in a Series 2a/3 and a mate fitted a 6 cylinder York in a 110.

Work out the cost of buying the parts/time involved and then decide if you want a leaky Series or a dry-ish Diso.

i am yet to make the daf straight six fit in the series

Yes the engine does fit, I have done it.
Took a bit of work though I had to make new engine mounts and weld them in.
And it goes well really well.
Only do it if you can weld and fairly good at mekin stuff, or your determined to make it work.
