Hi All,

I recently developed a problem with my Freelander 1 2006 TD4. Yesterday while driving several of the electrics failed. So far it seems the following aren't working-
Electric windows (all of them)
All Dials and warning lights (on start-up no lights appear)
Heated Seats
Air Con
Hazard warning lights
Rear wash/wipe, although the front wash/wipe do work

Though no warning lights appear on the dash when the main beam is on the blue light does appear and all the rest of the electrics like horn and radio and central locking do work. The car also does start and run. I've checked the fuses and they all look OK and I've had a look at the A pillar earth on the driver’s side and the battery earth and they seem OK. Does anyone have any suggestions that might cause this?

Hi Day, I have read your dilemma but sadly cannot offer a solution, only check the source for all of these non working electrics, maybe a dirty connection / or relay malfunction. Try the good old fashioned thing of wiggling all the relay boxes... Let me / us know If you find anything untoward as knowledge gained is knowledge shared.
Ian.

It sounds like it could potentially be the ignition switch contacts, as all those items are from an ignition switch supply.

It's not unheard of for the ignition switch to fail, but not very common. I'd start there though, as it's cheap (second hand) and easy to change.

Any luck with solving this?
seems his computer wont start either.
OK, I am also a forgetful poster so just maybe he has sorted it and is as happy as larry,
or,
he crushed his hippo.
I have a list of things to do to mine, bought a pile of bits to do it with, but, my vespa scooter rebuilds and life get in the way.
I call it old age myself so hide under that excuse.
Have a great weekend all.
Ian.
