Disco 2 Solenoid Repair Kit

The plunger in my new repair kit seems a bit strange. The thin part of the plunger (circled) on the new one doesn't seem fixed, and moves about far more than the one I've taken out.
Have I been sold a duff repair kit, or are they all a bit 'wobbly'?

Do you mean far more inside or to the sides?, cos if it's inside it's no problem

It doesn't move in or out, just side to side a lot more.

Then it's loosened... though i can't remember how mine was but it has no logic to have such movement

Replaced the 'old' solenoid plunger tonight after another good clean (Dremel to the rescue) as I wait for another repair kit to arrive.

So, the second repair kit arrived today, and the plunger in the new kit has the same 'issue' with the central pin.... bollox
I'm beginning to think I might just buy an entire starter motor, especially as I'll be taking it across the water in a few months.
