Still unable to track down why my courtesy lights will not come on when the doors are open or when the fob is pressed with the switch selected to middle. They all work ok on the ON switch and the light ring around the ignition key slot comes on but that's it. Ive checked the block and wires going to the computer thingy above the passenger footwell and all looks to be in very good shape. though the module does feel a little loose. If the courtesy lights had never worked it wouldn't bother me as much. Its the fact that they have stopped which is driving me mad. No idea what to try next. A disco owner friend said "its a landy, it will start working again in a week when something else stops" :)
any thoughts appreciated.

Hi mate my old disco had a fault the same mine was a broken wire to the body control unit but I think they do have problems with the unit it's self with water getting in I would check that

Remove nearside foot well kick panel, there's group of grey plugs mount behind it I think its the lowest one, gets water in it corrodes and go greens the lowest 2 wires in this connector are to do with the interior lights I cut them off the plug and reconnected seperatley

see attachment, concentrate on C0102/0484 pin 16(purple/blue wire) that's the one which comes from BCU/ignition illumination and goes to courtesy lights

Did they work before? You can turn them off with nanocom and the BCU will take control of them. So may be they were turned off.

Reread - you said they did! If not wiring or corrosion on plugs then BCU thrown a wobbly?

well to continue. Had my tester out again and there is defo some current (300mA) flowing when the doors are open but it aint getting to the lights. This current slowly drops off after a few seconds when I chose the doors. Also, I get the ding ding when I open drivers door with the lights on so im expecting a wire shorting out somewhere. They did work for the first few days of owning my disco and cant think of anything ive done that could effect it. Ive checked the wires under the passanger side and all seems in good condition. If I select off on the lights I still get the current when doors are open so im guessing the problem is between the lights and the BCU. If the BCU was faulty would there still be a current with doors open? Had a quick look at RAVE to see if I could find the wire that's supposed to go to the lights but got a little lost. Will have to have another look when im feeling smarter unless any of you know which it is.
printed out sierrafery's picture so hopefully will find it.

Thanks for any thoughts.

And completion....... After some stretching exercises and with torch in hand I managed to get into an interesting position where I could get a close look at the connecters sierrafery posted about and sure enough the purple/blue one was corroded a little. So just to be on safe side I cut both ends and fastened them together. fixed the problem there and then. Oddly enough, I was still getting 300mA with doors open with the wires cut so can only guess that's the BCU working cos with wires connected the current was over 1Amp. Well heres hoping that I haven't disturbed anything else by fixing this cos im on night shift tonight and really don't ant a dead battery in the morning.

So for a final recap: Courtest lights working again. Replaced radio/cassette for Radio/mp3/cd player and that seemed to fix my 300mA drain that was killing my battery in 2/3 days. Windows tinted (boot window tint reordered cos I cocked up this one). Car Deodouriser bomb cleared the smell of wet dog away. car mats fitted........ I think im sorted :)

many thanks for advise given.

arrgggggg. Now the rear wiper has packed in. The jet still works and fuses are ok so i suspect ive disturbed something around the connector for the courtesy lights as i believe the feed for the rear wiper is close by. well it will have to wait till my night shifts have finished. im glad all i have are niggles and no actual problems yet.
