As most of you know i have a sad hobby that involves owning an old fire engine. Ive had the thing 13 months now, and finally got round to trying to fire it up.

Changed the plugs checked the leads etc etc etc, put some petrol in, wired the battery up (possitive earth i figured out) turned the switch pressed the button and it isnt even trying

So mechanically minded people, wheredo i go from here. The starter motor isnt clicking, not trying at all. Its a b60 rolls petrol by the way.

Thought about that today, might give it a whirl tommorrow. by passing all the switches and all. hmmmm

been thinking abit and if its been sat fur over a year yer engine might be stuck.
not siezed but stuck. have you got any thing that could pull it in gear?
bung some oil down the bores throught the plug holes and let it sit for a day or so. then either get it pulled in gear with the plugs out or get a big arsed socket on the front pully? once you get it turning that way yer starter will hav ea better chance at it.
another trick you could try is to join two batteries together so you have 24v and put that straight onto the starter. although i think yer engine may be 24v already.

Na its a 12 volt jobbie. The starter sint even trying, so thats a possibility. Theres no chance of getting a socket onto the front pulley, asthe radiator is in the way and i cant shift that monster!

Ill try the starter motor, if not i think its be hitch the landie up to it in gear and pull slightly. (low 1 shud do it shudnt it?!)
