Snorkel for a 300tdi...anyone got this one?

I have no snorkel on my 110 but looking at getting one. I did fit a Mantec plastic jobby on my last Defender but at around £150 its not worth the money.
Spotted this one for £57.... looks very good for the money and its military spec. Anyone bought one and do they look okay?

Yeah that's what I've got ... does the job pretty well but you will need to silicon every little joint and take time ensuring the seal on the air intake is sealed properly. The mushroom on top is designed to catch air using a type of spiral pattern. I prefer the look of a Safari but at a £100 more it becomes a cosmetic item and not a practical one!

Once fitted did you need to alter the fuel settings?

Yes it fitted absolutely fine. Mine is a 200tdi which has the air intake on the near side. The 300tdi and TD5 have theirs on the offside so it is important you get the right one. Like I said silicon is a must. I think mine came with some but I used a whole lot more.

Fuel settings I didn't touch ... don't know if it's advisable to do that?

There is an ad in the for sales section for a 300tdi mantec snorkel. I went to pick up a couple of other bits and bobs from him today, he is a genuine guy and offered it to me but it won't fit my 200tdi (i dont think). Brand new and boxed but he got rid of the defender he was going to put it on. He's in SE london but I'm sure he'd be willing to put it on ebay and send it to you if you agreed a price...
