Hi all.

Just after some advice about my 200tdi. It seems to have dropped dramatically in performance since I fitted it in October. My boost gauge is reading 8 psi at maximum boost at the wastegate t piece. I know this is way too low, should I be suspecting a knackered turbo. It does seem very verbal in terms of whistling but as far as I can see all hoses feel, look good and clips are tight!
I did think about running the wastegate pipe to the Inlet manifold so the turbo will boost until the manifold reaches wastegate pressure but I know this should be boosting at around 15psi right?

Land rover 90 with Fender 200tdi with disco manifolds and turbo. Straight through side exit, no silencers.

Cheers,

Lloyd

You should get a boost pressure above 10psi

If it is too low and there are no leaks in the system, try adjusting the wastegate actuator by one turn clockwise, and see if there is any improvement.

I did wonder if there's a hole in the intercooler, I've checked all the hoses and they're not split or soft. I've tried winding the boost up I'll give it another go.

Fixed it! Pipes between the wastegate and turbo nozzle was broken and the pipe from the fuel pump to turbo was broken aswell. Result: Wow! It's never been so fast, so much torque and the power is incredible. I do have to back the wastegate back down though as all of the adjustments that I thought were pointless now mean I have a boost spike around 20psi and a constant pressure around 16psi. Thanks for your help.
