slow to start

Hi All
Over the last few days my landy (Freelander TD4 2004 ) has being very slow to start. On a one occasion when turning the ignition all you could here was a click from the starter. after several turns the engine started. The live terminal on the battery is full of green powdery gunk . Thinking
of buying Glow plugs on Ebay but don't know what type to buy, Any help I would be delighted to have,

I'd say you have a failing starter

I'd clean up the battery terminals and put a new battery on-cured the same symptoms on mine.

Change your filters also, get a free bat alternator check, let the glow plugs light go out several times before you start to make sure their hot, but tbh it say new battery or wrong battery get one with high cold cranking amps.., I've got an exide which have a long guarantee and are good quality for the price..
