Hi, took my 300tdi to the garage a couple of weeks ago to get the anti-freeze changed. (didn't have time to do it myself). Since then the heater takes a longish while to blow any warm air out (bout 5 miles). will work fine until i stop for a few minutes, then it will blow cold air till the vehicle has driven a mile or two. The temp gauge will climb to normal and stay constant.
I presume the heater has an air lock in it, any ideas how to get the air out as there are no bleed valves anywhere to be seen. cheers, hairy.

Hi, yeah, thought of that but the temp gauge (once warm) stays constant. I'll put a new one in on friday, and see if it is the prob. cheers, hairy.

Run your cold engine with the rad filler plug removed u will soon see any traped air bubbling up, have your heater turned to hot also. Your thermostat may have packed up and is remaining open so that may be your second area to look at.

Hi, thanks for that, i'll try it tomorrow, if i can get to it in the snow. i live in the north of scotland, it's a handy machine in snow. cheers, hairy.

there should be 2 plastic screws 1 on top of rad other on top of thermostat housing unscrew them and there should be 2 bleed screws each side of manifold haines manual will give you info on them open 1 at a time until you get fluid coming out of them
