sloppy steering!!!:( afternoon ,have been off the radar for a
while so a bit rusty with the forum!! 2001 td5 90.
any idea's apart from the obvious have noticed the steering getting more vague just lately , checked the drop arm/track rods, nothing to shout home about, checked the steering u/j's
on the column to the box again nothing bad shows up but did notice if you grab the bar between the linkages and physically
turn it (normal action) back then forward and watch the steering wheel ,you can get a lot of free play before the wheels start to move!! is there any way of taking up this slack on the steering box??? any input would be appreciated.

yep the screw on the top of the power sterring box. You need to put the car on axle stands and loosen the bolt on the top of the steering box and then adjust the grub screw inside withe an allen key, with the car running check it doesnt grab or bind on full lock, adjust to suit. then tighten up bolt to lock the screw in position.
