We have had out discovery TD5 for 11 years and the last year or so the clutch has been slipping and getting progressively worse. Until the last week or so where it seems OK now. Do you think it might be contaminated and cleared itself?

I now have all the bits ready to change it in the spring but should I sit back and wait for it to manifest itself again? The car has done 117,500 miles.

its rare a plate gets contaminated, i cant remember the last time i saw such, its most likely worn clutch or hydraulic system not allways letting fluid back so release bearing applies pressure to the clutch usually noticeable only when clutch is used often in a short time
