from my previous thread i have found out its not the manifold blowing but the head gasket. My question to all the p38 gods out there is would this mean it has slipped a liner. Its a 4.6 with no loss of power but id did over heat about 2 months ago but not since please help god of the p38

Which is what you have to do to fix the gasket. Get in there and find out for sure. Probability is that it is just the gasket, so dont panic.

once these engines overheat its more often than not the start of liner movement, either causing or resulting from overheating. the only way to find out is to take it to bits and see!

You'll soon know if it's slipped a liner. Start the engine from stone cold & listen, if it sounds quiet (apart from the fan noise) leave it running to warm up, or drive it to do the same. If a tapping, at piston speed, starts as the lump gets up to temperature you have a problem. At this point you need a priest not a mechanic.
