slight shudder when low speed about 25 mph in D any thoughts? no problem when put foot down. rev counter does goes up and down slightley
 
Sounds like classic Torque Converter issues....

Does it sound like/feel like going over a fine cattle grid??

Usually under light throttle accelerating slowly between 30-50mph and also on light throttle up a hill??

The problem with the ZF box is a bearing fails between B and C clutch, this causes the O ring sealing between B and A clutch to fail leaking hydraulic pressure....

A clutch starts to slip slightly and the Torque Convertor Lock Up Clutch tries to limit the slip and prematurely wears out causing a juddering/vibration....

Drain your Gearbox oil and change the filter and see what the fluid looks like, any signs of debris means you need to get the thing sorted - quickly!

Good thing witht he ZF box is it gives you warning before it fails (this vibration) the GM box just lets go!

Go onto rangerovers.net and seek out the posts by a member called RRPhil (Bemble on here), he details the issues and the repair procedure extremely well...

can draining the gear box and change fillter somtimes cure this saint is it hard job

I had a vibration at 25mph and a faint judder around 45-50mph...

I drained my Oil and changed the filter in January - and fingers crossed is vastly improved....still a tiny judder approaching 50mph, but I think that may just be me 'looking' for it....so not a Cure, but will certainly a) Help you diagnose the condition of the box by looking at the oil condition and b) help out slightly....mine isn't 'cured' by significantly better and much much reduced...

Dead simple to do, I wrote a How To in the How To section with photos detailing the procedure....

Only 'Special Tool' required is a Torx Bit set and a method of refilling the Box afterwards (I used a fence Pressure Sprayer)...and note, make sure you can undo the fill plug BEFORE you drain it out...as it can be bastid tight....

just read your colum saint are you in uk if so can i ring you just to ask few questions .
 
I felt this on mine just after some off roading...
oil and filter change asap?
Looks like these things should have filter and oil change at least every 5 yrs maybe every 2?
could it be anything else?

I'd say change it at 30k intervals.....ZF revised on the new trannies to be changed avery 50-60k rather than lifetime fill...

30K or 2years for me!

I would pay extra for the ZF supplied kit - just for peace of mind, after all this is something you only do every 60K miles! - but is it really necessary to buy it from Land Rover??
