Simple diy rock sliders anyone?

After a simple diy rock slider well mainly something to edge the bottom of my door now I've fitted box section sill like a smaller box section to weld to the sill to sit our from the door to finish it off like the factory plastic does. Does anyonekknow of anything? I've searched but can't find anything other than like bent tube etc.

Intereated to see what people say. I need to replace my sills and was thinking of box section in place of them and attatch some sprt pf rocksloder to ot.

How do you bend the tube though without any tube bender? What size box section did you use as well?

You can buy pre bent elbows if you don't have pipe bending capabilities!!!

or just use square tube cut and welded, mine are a bit further out than you might want but i have wheel spacers and insas on so wanted mine to stay in line with the most extreme points on the outer edge of the disco but you could simple make them smaller by adjusting the angles and length of them.

What size box section is that discopol?

Pre bent elbows might work. Another silly question buy where do I get tubular steel same place as I got box section? I can't imagine they would sell it and elbows.

i cant actually remember but i think its 50x50, was dead easy to do and imo easier to weld up nicely than tube, makes a great step in for my short arsed wife and 5 year old lad too.

Did you cut the ends seperetately or cut triangular pieces out and bend the box to shape it then weld it back together?

I used 80x80x5 and then 2" nominal bore pipe which is more like 2.6 overall

You can even cut and weld it like box section though

Tube looks better than cut and welded box I think. Although I will admit to overdoing it slightly on those sliders given that it brings the width of my series out to 81"
