SIII fuel sender removal

Hi all,
Have bought a new fuel sender but can't get the old one out! Any ideas?

Diesel 109" 1983 if that helps

but give it all a clean downa nd wire brush first and soak it in diesel/penetrating oil, the little ears you hit like to bend at the best of times let alone if everything is stuck after years of sitting.

Tap each tab in turn working anticlockwise, just one tap each in turn until ring rotates to position where bends in ring line up with tabs on tank and ring lifts out.

As well as the advice given, a tap clock wise is always worth a try.
The number of stuck screws, nuts, bolts etc I have freed up with that tip is too numerous to remember.

Sorted! Was very stuck though, required a lot of force to get it out. New one works fine
