Hi All, this is my first thread!!!!
Anyway, I have purchased a pair of side steps to fit my 300TDi (1997) of eBay. The description said that they came off a 200TDi but will fit a 300TDi. Tried to find the fixing holes on the Disco today but I cant seem to find them. The holes on the mud flap fixings sort of line up but they cant be strong enough can they???? The bolts on the steps are big and the brackets look like they "sandwich" something between them??

Any ideas ????? :) Ian

Well I've been under her today and I cant find any bolt holes or anything that looks like it should take a bolt/clamp. Unless the clamp goes around the chassis, but I dont think the clamps are big enough.

Sounds like the brackets you have are not what fits a 300, they certainly don't sound like the ones I took off mine. 300 step brackets don't sandwich anything, they just bolt on.
You've not got a pic of them have you?

The last ones I took off used the body mount and a hole drilled through the outriggers. They fit in a skip better than on a disco imho and don't need any fitting you just chuck em in.

Most certainly will have to drill some holes. It's the aftermarket ones that bolt on in 15 minutes... I bought some from a sidesteps stockist ..... about 200 quid all in... nice quality

Thanks for all your help. I dont think the steps I have are orignial Landy ones. Looks like I will have to drill into the outriggers to fix them, but at least I now know where to drill!! Thanks again for all your help.

My opinion but i took mine off as they look ****, also combined you are adding an extra 25 kilo's of unneccesary weight to an already heavy car.
Unless you have difficulties getting into or out of your disco i would do as suggested and dump them, or like i did and swap them with another forum member for beer.
