I now have a 2001 TD5 adventurer which I love, with it I was given a pair of 'oasis' side steps without brackets, I have rang several of the parts companies who advertise 'landrover international' and they all claim that I cannot buy the brackets for these steps anymore, does anyone know where i can buy these from or has anyone got drawings as i work in a manufacturing company and could possibly make some up

Who is the manufacture of the steps try them. But I sure the the parts suppliers who you tried will know more than me.

I haven't seen replacement brackets even for steps that are on sale today advertised, perhaps I haven't looked very hard.

I can post a pic of the LR mounting for a D1, but maybe a D2 owner can do the same as they may be different.

Hi thanks for reply, the steps are genuine landrover jobbies and the local main dealer told me that they dont sell them, once he realised that I had an older landy he wasnt interested, i rang Britpart who where very helpful but again siad that they dont do these brsckets, he said somthing about being a discontinued part, what i dont under stand is that you can still buy steps for a 1990 disco 1 so why cant I find any brackets, unless of course i also havent looked hard enough

I had a look at my step mountings on my D1 and it's just a flat plate with a bit turned over they mount to the body outriggers one point to the body mounting it's self and the other to the outrigger and the square tube from the step is bolted to the plate via two bolts.
The drop of the plate is 110mm at the rear and 90mm at the front, so keeping the square tubes horizonal and the step close to the sill.

Did you ever find brackets for side steps. Cos I am now in same predicament , bought some Oasis steps of E bay, blow me no fitting kit. Have not been able source the fitting kit anywhere.
Most suppliers stock answer we only supply them with the steps!!!

seems common prob. got steps in shed cos brackets roted cant find replacement brackets anyone making them could find nice little earner floging them as no one else seems to

I had some LR side steps on my 300tdi till they rotted and I removed them.
I left the mounting plates on the car, they are still there and in good condition.
I don't know if they are any use to anybody but I daresay I could remove them without causing damage. I could even make patterns from them if required.
Let me know if you are interested.

Our Land Rover dealer supplied us with a side step fitting kit in the past few months, part number STC50225 which is about £22 for all the nuts and bolts, the steel spacers and the two mudflap stiffeners, all on a vacuum packed card.

I haven't opened ours yet so can take a picture tomorrow (it's at the factory) if you need one.

The brackets are basically some channel that is cut and welded, and you'll need the mudflaps. Ours were bought secondhand without the fittings but with flaps, and after getting them straightened up they are going to be shot blasted and Zinc Sprayed before being powder coated.

There was a set on Fleabay this week for £5, and didn't sell: 170374345843

This is all Disco 2 stuff, but I think that it is relevant to Disco 1.

Hi all, sorry not been on for a while, just checked out that part number and it dont look like

the brackets for the oasis side steps, they could be for the stainless type possibly, I have got the left hand side brackets and i am currently in the process of trying to make some as the opposite hand for the other side as at the time i bought these the left hand side was the only side they had in stock, I will post some pictures when i get chance especially of the threaded bolts that will have to be made, good job I manage a machine shop for a large aerospace company !!!

Just managed to purchase fixing kit for Oasis steps on E Bay £5.00 plus postage
will post details when kit arrives assuming it is correct!!

Hi guys , I ended up making a pair if brackets using my father in laws as a template,
Turns out that you can or could still buy the nut and bolt kit,
Craddocks I think or could have been paddocks but basically
The brackets are just steel channel cut and welded and drilled
Not difficult really but a million miles away from the 300tdi that
I used to have, co incidentally I think have a pair of side step
Brackets for my old 300tdi brand new in the box somewhere in the garage
