side exit exhaust using the old cat how to with pics

i put a de cat on my disco last week and then the back box fell of and i was stood there thinking "that cat would make an awsome side exit " so i got the angle gringer and welder out and had a go, the only thing i bought was a new grinding disc it cost me nothing to make and about 1 1/2 hours to do, only problem i encountered was i cut the hole and finished the exhaust but it was hitting the body so i had to cut a bigger hole

this was the first hole i cut that was to small

cleaned the old pipe up and kept the old hanger to weld on at the end

welded the old hanger on to support it

this was it finished but hole was to small so had to cut this one and finished it off with a rubber strip i actually had left over from my snorkel kit

then an overall picture after putting the new tyres on aswell with the new 2" lift

boot floor is good only did it 3 months ago but the rot is underneith it, in my defense i only sae it today so yet more welding to do lol i bought a welder when i bought the landrover :fencing:

sounds just right little rumble and not nearly at asbo level like most of my mates and you can hear the turbo boosting much better wich is cool

£22.50 thank you very much mr scrap man that paid for my de cat so in essance i got a de cat and side exit completley free all i paid for was the wire for my welder. and the welder has paid for its self 100 times over so the rule of the universe everything for the next ten years if absolutley free :eek: at least thats what i have explained to the mrs as to why ive bought so much **** haha
