I am currently rebuilding my 84 classic vogue, I am about to start work on the rear arches and was wondering if the c pillars should have holes at the base, under the arch or do I need to plate them. Or should there be holes but I should plate them anyway??

Please help :D

Hi Stu, if you're talking about where I think you are the answer is sort of yes and sort of no. If you have a sun roof, the sun roof drain passes out through the base of the C pillar, it should be a nice round hole but it should have a grommet in it through which the drain hose passes.

Typically, this section rots out along with the bottom of the pillar. If you are replacing the outer rear wheel arch you'll soon see how it is supposed to be as the bottom of the pillar is actually part of the outer arch panel, watch out though, you have to separate the sandwich of 3 parts where the inner arch, pillar and outer arch meet in the vertical plane (you'll see what I mean - hopefully), I found it was possible to open it up carefully with a very thin grinding disc then welded it all back together once the outer arch was in place. With the door and rear wing off it is actually not too bad.

I haven't got a clue what the answer to your question is
but, I've got to thank you for the childish giggle that your title got at this end.

I took some pics of my big holes :D:D:D

The post is open until it is welded to the wheel arch. You have some serious work on your hands with that one.
