Hi chaps,

I've discovered 2 plugs which seemingly don't go anywhere on sides of the bonnet (pic attached).

Someone suggested, and RAVE seems to confirm, that they are the power supply for the heated front windscreen?

If this is the case, since they clearly aren't attached, should I be making a surly phone-call to Autoglass, or is the windscreen now powered in a new way and these are something else for a different model?
Alternatively how easy are they to plug in?

Is there any means of checking the heated front windscreen in this weather (other than the HEVAC light)?

Thanks! :)

I have a feeling they need to be plugged in before the windscreen goes in place! But I could be wrong!

They only way to check is to switch on the heated windows and use a DVM in the plug to see if you get juice!

They are the heated screen connectors. Remove the black grill under the screen and if the screen has the heaters they can simply be plugged in.

I think there is an earth connection to be made somewhere too. They connect to a stud somewhere near the centre under that black grill IIRC.

Yes right in the middle between the wipers

Auto Glass snapped mine off and just left the wires hanging?? as it was really cold and chucking down with rain on the day I had my screen replaced it didn't take long for me to notice it wasn't connected!!

Just phoned my insurance company, who are getting back to me post finding the person in charge of windscreen issues :p

I have looked at the diagram, and as Data says they do look simple, so if National Windscreens (just to clear Autoglass' name there :p ) don't honour their mistake I'll leave a complaint and do it myself.
I like to think the person who did it connected the earth wire and then didn't do the others by mistake, rather than barefaced lied to me when I asked if he had done the electrics...
Hopefully they will though.. and I'll probably still do it myself!

If you have probs ask them if you can take it to a garage and have them do it
Then just find a freindly garage to write up a resipt for say £50 do the job yourself but tell the glass company hou want rembursing

DONE

National windscreens came to sort it this morning; they discovered that the previous installer had bypassed the original connections, so it was actually connected *awkward*.
Still, now I don't have phantom wires hanging out the sides :p

Best bit was a quote from the chap who came round; "great cars to work on these, as they're purely mechanical"
