Hello all, i have a problem (dont we all). Anyways, i have a new series 2a chassis and also purchased new front and rear springs (both 11 leaf). I bought new front shocks and went to fit but, alas to my dismay they seem to be approx 30mm too short on full extent!! Whats my problem (dont go there) . The shocks i bought are from rimmers, part no RTC4234P. Any help greatly appreciated.

Is it riding high or does it have the mil 2" lift? The 1 ton shocks are 2" longer.

if the chassis is bare with no engine gearbox or body on then you will need to compress the springs before the shocks will fit.
Petrol 9, diesel and mil. 11 as far as I know.
I, m just rebuilding another ex mil 109 with the associated 2" lift and the 1 ton shocks fit on just fine with no compression.

Agreed, I think the 11 leaf spring could be the mil or HD springs - I have the 1 ton shocks on a 2" lift and 11 leaf springs.
I think the part you need is RTC4231 then, these are 50mm longer I think. They are what I have on mine.
Don't compress the springs to get the others on cos you'll knacker them with all that force from a new pair of springs. Even unloaded the shocks ought to slide on ok.
