Hi all
My 200 TDi Failed the MoT on Shocks and Turrets and Discs and Pads.

Problem I have is getting the old shock out. So far I have got the Discs off, and got the Turrets off.

The shocks however.....

Problem is that the lower lock nut retaining the shock in place is well and truly seized. I can't get a socket on it, due to the cramped space.

I have the suspension spring compresed, so I can get at the shock.

Any ideas on how to remove it. Its going to be replaced so destroying it in the process of removal isn't a problem. I have thought of an angle grinder in between the spring and cut through the shock, leaving the internal rod exposed. Then mole grips and a spanner and brute force.

Any other ideas ?

Ta
