when braking im getting a violent shudder ive had all the wheels off and checked all disks and pads and they all look fine all four disks and pads have been replaced within the last 2 years and within the last 10000 miles !! any ideas ?
i usually remove the discs and put the in the laithe and run a cutter down both sides (at the same time) to get them true. works well and svaes buying new discs.
By running a cutter down both sides at once , though I can't see how you're doing this unless you have made a mandrel to bolt the disc onto, you are actually risking more flex (pushing off) of the disc from it's true position.
Facing each side individually is a far better method to use to keep the whole plot running true provided the jaws are bored true to the disc or that the disc is clocked in.
Are you doing this on an industrial lathe or a hobby lathe?
congrats on your first non abusive post
