Seriously annoyed.. who wants a 110

Hi all not posted for ages but had to today as i've finally had it with my 110.. fuel pump went about 100miles ago so i shelled out and replaced it.. took it for its MOT today, it failed.. only on two points first being no rear fog light.. i have one but didn't get round to fitting it.. the other being power steering not working, guessing this is due to the fact there is virtually no fluid as i had a leak.. again brought a seal kit (as its leaking from play adjuster o-ring) but not fixed it yet, so i was kinda chuffed afternoons work would see it on road again for 12months. then on way home from test station the new fuel pump died! Had to walk 2 miles home and now waiting for a mate and a tow. Im fed up and annoyed its gonna go. Anyone want it? Its a 1985 (i think) 110 CSW bit rough round the edges and drivers door is knackered (other 3 passenger doors are rusty but not as bad) got a new rear door new SS exhaust from down pipes back (have SS downpipes but they are not blowing so i didn't change them) got a disco rear axle, rangerover 3speed auto box and had a newish V8 at some point before i had it also had a new half chassis. I had the bulkhead and A pillar welded. Needs no welding other than doors and is very solid. Till the last wek it hasn't let me down in 10,000 miles. Some of interior is missing but very useable. Its possible the alternator may be on way out too. No MOT as stated and only taxed till end of the month. Will give more details if anyone is interested, I need transport myself so will swap it for something ready to go, big enough to fit my dive and camping gear in and able to tow my small rib! Either that or will go back to my youth and might consider something a bit sporty! Needless to say i'd love a disc commercial. If intersted email me at [email protected]

are you sure the pump has died and not some summin like crap blocking a pipe? if it is the pump shirley if its only done 100miles its should have some kind of manufactors warranty

No definately dead pump. Well almost 100%, from my road side checks its not out of fuel, fuel will flow freely to the pump, pump has power, cant hear pump and nothing coming out, well not pumped out anyway. Pump was also exceptionally hot just ater stuff died. Not sure if thats normal but struck me as odd.

shouldnt fail on no fog light... i aint got one. just top up the PAS fluid before you get there... after you fix the pump!

10,000 miles and only the pump? your not doing bad!

you need a fog lamp if its under a certian age.
id love to know where some of you lot get your mot's from.

mines an 84 so pretty much the same age...

'The inspection of rear fog lamps is confined to the one rear fog lamp which is required to be fitted to the centre or offside of vehicles first used on or after 1 April 1980'
been doin some reasearch to see whjat i can and cant get away with on my impending mot. this site came in usefull.

S'pose it's a matter of them getting to know you, and them trusting you. Which means, in my case, taking up to five vehicles a year for the last 15 years to the same place! They still won't let you get away with something stupid though, and you have to respect the fact that they have a living to make, if they loose their MOT licence ticket thing, then they're ****ed.

MoT , seems to me are a bit hard on the average driver, we think we have it a bit hard here with the RTA, which are known locally as the Gestapo.
I really don't understand the system you have there, it seems overly officious to me, but I suppose everything is relative.

We have a so-called 'roadworthy' test here, but it is only needed on change of ownership if a vehicle is 3+ years old. I bought my 110 11 years ago when it was one year old so it has never been tested. It would pass, not like some of the junk on the roads here. My Audi 100 is now twenty years old and was tested once.
